Gir has always been on my bucket list, not only because Gujarat is such a fascinating place, but also because I have wanted to see lions in the wild ever since I can remember. But, I always got to see them in zoos, behind bars where they pace around in frustration. So, when the chance came to choose a place for our family vacation, I suggested Gujarat, and was met with raucous cheer. They loved my idea, and as a result I was the one assigned to look for hotels to stay in. For Gir, I wanted to book a room at Gir Forest Resort Gujarat, a part of the Fern Hotels chain.

Accommodation in Sasan Gir is surprisingly easy to come by, but then you have got to search for the best when the entire family is counting on you. Thankfully, I have stayed at other hotel of this chain, and I know for a fact that they are good with their services and their rooms; an added plus is that their location is always one of the best in any given city, and same was the case in Gir. We were very warmly welcomed, and escorted to the rooms we had booked online. There were hardly any issues in the 3 days that we spent in the hotel, and I would like to say that a stay here is highly recommended for travelers from all over the world. One word of advice though, try to book in advance as their popularity ensures a full house on most occasions.
